About Me

Chloe was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at 16 months old.  Since that time she has also developed allergies to some tree nuts as well.  Her lab numbers have increased over the years and several allergists have told us that she will not likely outgrow her food allergies.  Strict avoidance of all nuts and constant vigilance has kept her reaction free since the initial reaction.  It hasn't been easy, but we feel that all our decisions along the way have been vital in keeping Chloe safe.

The latest decision is to begin a peanut desensitization process called Oral Immunotherapy.  This blog will detail her progress which we hope will be nice and boring.

Update: Chloe began OIT on January 25, 2016.  She reached maintenance on November 29, 2016.  It took approximately 10 months and the progress was very slow and steady in the early months.

We are happy to answer any questions about our experience, so please use the contact button if you are on the fence about OIT or we can help in any way.
